Who is Nitrix Oxide?
My drag name comes from Nitrous Oxide, or Laughing Gas.
Funny, intoxicating, twisted, and very stupid.
Five years ago, I moved to San Francisco and fell in love with the drag scene. I started as a club kid with bizarre headpieces and questionable makeup, heading to Mother at Oasis on Saturdays and Big Top Sundays at Beaux in the Castro. It didn’t take me long to start performing, and a clown was born!
I don't describe myself as a drag queen or drag king, I fall somewhat in the middle. I see my drag character as some space alien that crashes down to Earth and likes to play dress up. I draw my references from Leigh Bowery, Divine, Peaches Christ, The Boulet Brothers, and Keith Haring.
I am also the drag mother of four amazing children of the House of Muppets: Bonita, Interrobang the Dragon, Neauxleigh, and Kawaii Nosferatu.
In summary, I’m a pyscho-comedy queen, spooky and campy with a sharp tongue and quick wit.
Performance History
I have performed all over the Bay Area; including San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose; as well as Los Angeles. I am also a producer and host of several San Francisco shows: Killer Queen, a rock n’ roll drag show (Midnight Sun); Encore!, a musical drag revue (Lookout); Studio 51, a club kid party in space (DNA Lounge); Laugh Riot, comedy drag show (Milk Bar); Le Drags Hot, variety cabaret (Oasis); I’d Like to Keep It On, Please, lip sync clip show (The Edge); and Bloodbath, horror/alternative party (The Edge).
I also hosted viewing parties for The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula Season 3 at SF Eagle and Season 4 at The Edge featuring special guests: Hollow Eve (S3), Dollya Black (S3 Finalist), Hoso Terra Toma (S4 Finalist), Erika Klash (S2), Frankie Doom (S1 Finalist), Kendra Onixxx (S2), and Saint (S4 Finalist, Resurrection Winner).
I have been fortunate enough to perform at several drag festivals: including Oaklash, the Bay Area’s drag festival (2019), Bushwig NYC Pride (2020 Digital), and Austin International Drag Festival in Texas (2019, 2020 and 2021 Digital). I was also part of the cast of Terror Vault in 2019, a haunted house/theatrical experience produced by Into the Dark productions and San Francisco legend Peaches Christ.
